Region V AVID Team

AVID is disseminated in California through county office regions, similar to the California Technology Assistance Project (CTAP). There are 11 AVID regional centers in California . Each regional center has one of its county offices serve as the local education agency (LEA) for AVID. In Region V, the Santa Clara County Office serves as the LEA for AVID and administers the regional program.

The Region V AVID Program is fully supported by state grants. AVID staff provides ongoing support and guidance to AVID sites in the region. Efforts include training in the professional development workshops and conferences, site visitations, student and parent conferences, data collection and research, post-secondary relations, and other support. Regional staff also promote the development of regional AVID Demonstration Sites, which play a crucial role in program development and serve as an opportunity for sites preparing to implement AVID to observe a mature program.
