AVID National Demonstration Schools are centers of learning and research in which AVID is the cornerstone of schoolwide change as evidenced by a college-going atmosphere which provides all students with the opportunity to succeed in rigorous curriculum.

Region V National Demonstration Schools

Region V is proud to announce that El Sausal Middle School in Salinas was validated by the AVID Center as a National Demonstration School on December 10, 2007. As per the final validation report, “El Sausal students and staff have created a community that provides a supportive, safe and warm environment. Students take pride in meeting and exceeding the district benchmarks and API/AYP school scores. There is evidence that the school values the heritage and cultures of their students, and has created a climate of acceptance. The school has a number of exemplary programs and activities to share with the wider AVID world”.
